Washington Monument

The Washington Monument is a tapering shaft or obelisk of white marble,555 feet.5-1/2 inches in height and 55 feet.1-1/2 inches square at base. Eight small windows. 2 on each side, are located at the 500 feet level where Washington points of interest are indicated. The Monument is open 7 days a week, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.,8a.m. to 12 midnight in the summer. It is closed Christmas day.
