An individual place setting is called a cover and would need width of 50-61 cm and a depth of approximately 30 1/2 to 40 1/2 cm. The flatware to be placed in a table setting is determined by the kinds of the service being used - formal or informal.

Gods smiles on Anacleto

The wonders of science were almost beyond reach of the common masses during the Spanish rule. Few of them ever had the benefit of the collage education. Hence, they were prone to superstitions. Anacleto del Rosario, who came from the ranks of the poor, was a shining beacon. He rose to become the Prince of the Filipino Chemist despite poverty and the limitations of a Spanish-imposed curriculum.

Anacleto was born in 1860 to a humble rope-maker Eugenio del Rosario, and a fruit vendor, Casimira Sales. He was well-loved since he was the only survivor of eleven children of the poor couple.

During his early boyhood, he studied under private tutors, one of whom was a lawyer-uncle. At the age of seven, he mastered the alphabet and learned elementary Spanish. He was such a bright boy that his hardworking parents entertained glowing illusions of his golden future.

Unfortunately, misfortune struck the family in 1872, when Anacleto was barely eleven years old. His father died and his mother became an invalid. Despite his extreme youth and weak body, Anacleto did a man's job to support his sick mother and had to quit his studies. He sold fruits and vegetable in the streets like his mother; he made ropes like his later father; and, later, he worked as a laborer at the electric company in Manila.

Though tired and wavy from the day's work, Anacleto attended to his mother's needs cheerfully. Not even once did he complain the misery and hopelessness. He knew that someday the Lord will send an angel of mercy to help him and his mother in their sad state. His prayers were answered when a rich and kind relative came to their rescue. In 1873, he enrolled Anacleto, then eleven years old, in the secondary course under private tutors, in the Ateneo de Manila. From then on, it was smooth sailing. He passed the trials and God was obviously pleased with him.

The Acropolis of Athens, Greece

In the City of Athens, Greece, stands a hill 160 meters high. The hill is the Acropolis. The word ''Acropolis''means ''upper city''.The ancient Greeks used hills as forts, because fighting uphill was hard for their enemies. Handsome temples were built on this hills to honor the gods and goddesses of the Greeks. Many cities in ancient Greece had an acropolis, but the most famous one is Athens.

Over 400 years before Christ, several magnificent marble temples were built on the Acropolis of Athens in Honor of the goddess Athena. The great gatehouse of the Acropolis, called the Propylaea,was the Athenians Favorite building.

The most famous temple is the Parthenon, design by Phidias, one of the most noted architects of all time. Most people think that the Parthenon is one of the most beautiful buildings ever built. But the statue was lost long ago.

Another temple, the Erechtheum, is known for its''Porch of the Maidens''. The six'' Maidens'' are pillars that are statues of woman. The pillars hold up the roof of the porch.
Many parts of the Acropolis temples were destroyed by time and war. But some of them have now rebuilt. People from all over the world go to see the Acropolis.

Meal Planning For The Family

Mealtimes are not only occasions to get the essential nutrients the body needs. It is also an opportunity for families to enjoy each other's company. Today, family members seldom get as much chance to be with each other as they used to. This setup is bought about by the fact that family members have to go to work or attend school during the day such that the evening meal becomes one of the rare times for them to be together. Conversing, sharing one's experiences or events that took place in their own places of work or in school over a well-prepared nutritious meal is an important event that should be shared by the family members. It is therefore necessary to plan meals that are nutritionally adequate and enticingly prepared and served.

Furniture Arrangement

When you decide on a furniture arrangement, always keep in mind your activities and the space available for these furniture. A well furnished room gives a feeling of balance. This can be achieved successfully by alternating sizes. A tall furniture when grouped with a low furniture gives a more pleasing effect than when all tall or all low furniture are grouped together.

IF all furniture are low, choose one furniture and make it appear tall by putting a tall vase of flowers, a picture frame, or a mirror on top. Distribute large items around the room. Avoid concentrating them in one area. There should be balance between the amount of space occupied by the furniture and the space for movement. See to it that the room is well lighted by distributing the lamps (if there is more than one) around the room instead of concentrating them in one area. It is also important to consider the architecture of the room especially when deciding which part will be used as the focal point. A group of furniture, a work of art, a doorway or window may be used as focal point or center of interest.

Large cabinets, chests or drawers should be placed against the walls of the room. This is the reason why there are unfinished at the back. Group furniture for different activities - a sofa and a chair for conversation; a sofa, a snack table, and a TV set for watching television; a desk, a computer, a lamp, a bookshelf for reading and studying etc.

In furniture arrangement, always provide enough space for movement. The room look crowded and cluttered if furniture are arranged very closed together without consideration for easy movement.

In a bedroom, place the bed in such a way that it will receive enough sunlight and air for sanitation purposes. Keep traffic lanes open. Place the head of the bed against the wall or at the center of the room.

Values, Attitudes and Interests

Values, attitudes and interests affect as you grow and change and make choices for your future. Your individuality is reflected on the values you esteem, the attitudes you express, and the things that intrigue you.

Values are learned from one's culture, environment, family, friends and individual experiences. The History of both Russia and Okraine

These country began with the establishment of a state at Kiev in the A>D> 800's. Kiev was an important trading center on the Dnepr's River.It became the first state of Russia.

Poland conquered the western part of the Ukraine during the 1400's. During this time, the region became known as the Ukraine, meaning frontier. Many men of the region do not want to be ruled by the poles. They fled east and form a group of soldier- outlaws called Cossacks. The Cossacks fought the Poles many times, but they were unable to free the Ukraine from Polish rule.

For the next three hundred years, Poland, Russia, and Turkey fought for control of the Ukraine. During the 1700's, most of the Ukraine came under Russian rule in spite of strong Ukrainian opposition.

In 1917, near the end of the world war 1, the Ukrainians set up their own government at Kiev. But by 1921, Russia had restored its control over the Ukraine. The region became one of the original republics when t6he Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was formed in1922.In 1945, after World War11, Russia took over parts of the Ukraine that belong to Czechoslovakia and Poland. Underground opposition to Russian rule continued for several years after the War. Many Ukrainians still oppose Russian rule.

6.Know the current Airline Rules- To avoid additional fees and confusion at the airport. Understand how many pieces of luggage may be check plus the maximum dimensions and allowable weight for each bag. Call your airline for the latest information.

7.Pack Smart- Use smart packing tricks to fit items into your luggage in the most space-efficient way. And to provide easy visibility during security checks.

8. Group small items in see-through containers or in self-sealing plastic bags. Pack less to speed the security check process-an over packed bags takes longer to manually expect and is more difficult to repack.

9. Travel light- Two smaller bag are usually easier to manage than one larger bag. Wheels are great on smooth terrain,but you must still be able to carry your bag on rough streets and up steep flights of stairs.

At The Time of Typhoon Ondoy

Until now my family don't forget the way when typhoon Ondoy was attack in our country. We are really traumatized with it Specially my 2 childrens. At the preseason  peak of Typhoon Ondoy last Saturday night Sept.26, there was a wide flooding around metro manila areas including Valenzuela City were we live. The sorroundings are very dark ,no electricity , and the water inside our rented house was untill our thighs and outside was over our head.When Me and my husband decide to left our rented home the water outside was until our head. My 2 childrens was crying because they don't know how to swim. They afraid that we would be die. The force of flowing water  was really frightening us. We don't see any rescuer to rescued us. But we need to evacuate because the flow of the water was keep on rising, that was around 1:00 in the dawn or madaling araw in tagalog. I told my children they must have strenghten their own if not we all die. And thanks God We reached to the police station, upstairs  was a temporary evacuation center. We stayed their for 2 nights and 1 day.  At the 2nd day , the water was till our breast outside but we need to go back home to see if our home has no water anymore,  so that we can back home as soon as possible. Thanks God our home was no water anymore but outside still deep. And at early in the morning on the same day we clean our house. At last were back home again. By the help and guidance of our Lord Jesus Christ were save and were at home now. Even though some of our important thing was down to flood We don't mind it ,the most important is were save, and still alive untill now . Praise God He's so Wonderful, and merciful. Thank You- Thank You Lord forsaken and saving my family in times of calamity and disaster.

But this experienced was led to us specially my childrens they really traumatized. I hope God's will Healed us. And also hoping that we can save more money again to buy again something that was lost us.

Not only my family are the victims of the rare typhoon many Filipinos are really affected and others are died when saving their nieghbors, and when their house was took by the flowing water. And many are victims of flash floods and landslides. To those who are generous help, and donated cash or in kind thank you very-very much.  Hope you continued helping others thats in need.

There in the Island of Panglao, in my Bohol province. The fine, white sands and palm trees of alona beach are exactly what bora was many years ago. Sprawling amid lush landscaped gardens high on a windswept cliff at the amorita Resort.

Best to Know What One Should do Before, During and After an Earthquake

First- study your houses secure anything that can be toppled by an earthquake, like tall cabinet.

Getting Ready for Life

In growing up we should realize that life is not always a bouquet of roses, Life always has its ups and downs but the lord says, "Take up your cross and follow me."

Growth in the Family

A person becomes a witness to change from the time of his/her birth. Changes in the family happen as an infant grows - new ways of doing things, new chores, new responsibilities and new schedule. As a child grows into a young teenager, more changes occur. The teen years dubbed as the most difficult period for an individual because of many adjustment that have to be done.

Marriage Life

The birth of a new baby is only one example of a family member. When older brothers and sister marry, they may bring their wives and husbands to live with the family. Relatives, a cousin, or a grandparent, may come to live with the family.

This will require the old and new members to make some adjustments. New division of household work, new routines, new schedule. These adjustments are necessary to make things for both parties a lot easier.

Adjusting to a new member is no easy to job, but once you get used to being with the new member, you will realize that having fun and interesting.
